I know this usually will sound pretty bizarre to the average person, but how would you feel going across the world to find love? It happens so often and we don't even realize it. There are many people that just feel they cannot find happiness in the town or place they are in, so they send off to Europe to find a soul mate. Many cases end up on a positive note, while some end in a terrible manner. In the documentary, a few men go off on a trip to Ukraine and Russia to find what we would call "a mail order bride". they send off in hopes to find love and a partner for the rest of their lives. of course not all of them end up coming home with a lady to call their own. and some come home with absolutely no idea that the woman they spent tens of thousands of dollars on, was just collecting a cut of the pay. the emails they send out to speak to each woman cost upwards of $10 inbound and outbound, and the cost goes to the male. The cost of the email is to have it translated into english for the man and to russian or ukranian for the woman. The men then go out onto 3 excursions while in the foreign country. they go to bars and nightclubs where the website hosts the little get togethers in hopes to finally meet the woman they spent thousands of dollars on just simply emailing. It is sort of a bitter sweet documentary because it is great to see the men come home and have the lady join them and start a life here in the U.S. but there are also fraudulent cases in which the man spends a ton of money and gets married and pays for everything, only to find out the lady does this just for free vacations and to collect money. It is very unfortunate in those cases but of course there are people out there that will do that.
